The things people usually want to know, answered here so you do not have to ask.
Should we just use Square, Fresha or Calendly instead?
Often, yes. If an off-the-shelf tool does what you need, use it. It will be cheaper and better supported than anything custom. Custom is worth it when the tool stops fitting: when you need deposits it will not take, a payment split it cannot do, or a connection to your accounting that does not exist. If you send us your situation and the answer is Fresha, we will tell you that.
Why is this more than the $500 booking systems we have seen?
Because those are a booking form. They put a calendar on your site and take a payment, and for plenty of businesses that is genuinely enough. What they do not do is make the money land in the right place: deposits matched against invoices, refunds your accounts agree with, a booking and a payment that cannot exist without each other, and your accounting software knowing about all of it without anyone retyping. If a booking form is what you need, buy the cheap one. We build the part that comes after.
What does it cost?
Projects start at $1,500, and that is a project price rather than an assessment fee. More tailored systems are quoted to suit the job. Either way you get an indicative range before you commit to anything, and a written quote with a fixed price and a delivery window before development starts.
Do you charge to quote?
No. Send a description and the initial view and indicative range come back at no charge. Occasionally a job is tangled enough that nobody could price it honestly without investigating first. If that happens we will tell you what needs looking at, what it costs and what you get, before you agree to anything.
How long does a build take?
Most work in this range takes two to six weeks once the scope is agreed. The written quote gives you a delivery window along with the price, and that window is part of what you are agreeing to.
Can you work with the systems we already use?
That is usually the point. Your booking tool, accounting software, calendars and payment provider mostly stay where they are. The work is making them agree with each other so nobody is retyping things by hand.
Do payments go through your account?
No. Money moves from your customer to your own merchant account. We build and connect the flow, and we never sit between you and your funds.
Who owns the code?
You do, once the final invoice is paid. That includes the accounts it runs on. There is no licence to keep paying and nothing that stops working if you stop working with us.
What if something breaks after launch?
Anything that does not work the way the plan said it would is fixed free for 90 days after launch. After that you can take a monthly care plan, which covers monitoring, updates and small changes, or you can call us as needed.
What if we want to change something mid-build?
You will get a short written note saying what the change involves, what it costs and what it does to the delivery date, and nothing is built until you say yes. That is how the price stays fixed instead of drifting.
Will you take over a half-finished project?
Yes. It starts with reading what is already there, because nobody can honestly quote to finish someone else's work without looking at it. For most jobs that is part of the free initial view. If the codebase is big enough to need real investigation first, we will tell you what that involves and what it costs before you agree to anything.
What happens if we stop working together?
You keep the code, the accounts and the documentation, and someone else can pick it up. We would rather hand a project over cleanly than hold onto one that is not working.
